This is my final project for Motion Graphics I. My class and I were prompted to research a topic of our choice to communicate a message of sorts and with a specific target audience in mind. Mine was Peer Pressure and my audience is aged 14+, since this age group deals with peer pressure the most. With that in mind, I used a simple art-style that resembles notebook doodle, and used many bright colors to engage my audience.
This is a research project, sources are credited at the end of the video.
Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, IBisPaintX (Storyboard)

There was a sound requirement for the video that my professor permitted me to download from Freesound. However, because the video file was too long to drag and drop, I compromised with uploading it to YouTube with the audio removed to prevent copyright issues. This was to allow a full preview of the video for this website.
You can view the sound version by clicking the button below.
This is my sketched storyboard for my PSA Animation on Peer Pressure. I tried to make sure I included many skills I used in class, from importing drawings from Adobe Illustrator, utilizing After Effects’s special FX library, wiggling the text, and most importantly, unblurring text. Unblurring text was the most important because my theme was handdrawn doodles, so the unblur effect would mimic writing with a pencil (it is even more convincing with the pencil writing sound effect in the Sound Version).
While my concept was good, my professor suggested I add more information. I described how humans rely on each other so much that even their opinions matter, the types of Peer Pressure, the side effects, and solutions to this problem. I added, as my professor suggested, mental side effects on the Final Storyboard on how it impacts parts of the brain, and how it is impactful the most on adolescents since their brains are still developing.
